PV Sindhu wins first Japan Open; teen Tanvi Sharma makes history
A strong year for Indian badminton, with titles at the Japan Open, Singapore Open and Taipei Open.
PV Sindhu added a first Japan Open crown to her collection in 2026. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the Singapore Open, while Lakshya Sen reached the All England final.
Young Tanvi Sharma won the Taipei Open Super 300, becoming the youngest Indian woman to win a singles title at that level. Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand took bronze in women's doubles at the World Championships.
