As AI "agents" that act on a user's behalf become common, banks are drawing a line. Charles Schwab says it blocks dozens of unauthorised agent attempts to access client accounts every week, and JPMorgan has confirmed it also blocks outside agents.

Large websites are doing the same. Reports say several retailers and travel companies allow only approved agents, or none at all, citing security and fraud concerns.
